A kutatócsoport tevékenysége:
A csoport elsősorban földrajzi léptékű vegetációs vizsgálatokat végez, általában vegetációs és környezeti adatbázisok felhasználásával. Ennek során érdeklődésünk fókuszában az éghajlat- és tájhasználat-változás, valamint a biológiai invázió hatásának dokumentálása, modellezése és előrejelzése áll.
A European Vegetation Survey munkacsoporthoz kapcsolódva gondozzuk a hazai cönológiai felvételek adatbázisát, amely alapján elsősorban fátlan vegetációtípusok osztályozásának revízióján dolgozunk. Ehhez kapcsolódóan módszertani fejlesztéseket végzünk a vegetációosztályozás területén.
Növényi tulajdonságok felhasználásával kutatjuk a közösségek szerveződésének szabályait (assembly rules).
